Responding to the Mercury Vapor Street Lamp Replacement Project of Executive Yuan, NML has established Taiwan’s first and only Standard V&V Testing Field for LED street lights on the West Coast Expressway (Provincial Highway #61). With the installation of LED street lights to measure and verify the on-site lighting characteristics, NML sought to reinforce and improve the current specifications, standards and regulations for road lighting design, and to clarify the functional and technical interrelationship correlation between the LED street lights and road engineering design, including the functionality of LED street lights under the drastically changing and inclement special weather conditions such as smog and downpour.

The LED Lighting Standard V&V Testing Field provides comprehensive real test data of LED lighting characteristics for the government agencies and road engineering authorities in their policy making regarding the complete replacement of street lamps on highways and expressways. And it, and additionally is also beneficial for energy saving and the market expanding of LED lights lighting industry.
