Dear APMP Colleagues and Friends,

It is my great pleasure to welcome all our member institutes to the upcoming APMP Mid-Year Meetings to be held in Hsinchu, Chinese Taipei, from 16 to 20 June 2025.

The year 2025 marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the International System of Units (SI). The theme of this year's World Metrology Day, "Measurements for All Times, for All People," reminds us that metrology is not just about preserving the standards of today—it is also about shaping the standards of tomorrow.

Hsinchu, a hub of technological innovation, provides an ideal setting for discussions on the next generation of measurement standards. This year's meetings will place a special focus on sustainable energy technologies, including solar, hydrogen, and energy storage.

I am confident that this year's Mid-Year Meetings will present an exciting opportunity for collaboration, insight sharing, and discussion on how we can collectively drive the field of metrology forward toward new horizons. In addition to honoring our past achievements, we will set the stage for the next 150 years of scientific innovation and excellence.

A special thanks to CMS/ITRI for their hard work and dedication in organizing this event. I encourage you all to mark the Mid-Year Meeting dates on your calendars. I look forward to welcoming you all to Hsinchu where we will write the next chapter of metrology together.

Warmest regards,

Hyun-Min Park
Chairperson, Asia Pacific Metrology Programme

Year 2025 is a historic milestone for the metrological community, as it marks the 150th anniversary of the International System of Units (SI). We have aligned the World Metrology Day (WMD) theme, "Measurements for all times, for all people" with this occasion to inspire discussions about the emerging demands in metrology for the next generation.

The venue we've chosen, Hsinchu, is renowned as the 'Silicon Valley of Taiwan' due to its global reputation in the semiconductor industry. This high-tech hub is home to a dynamic ecosystem of research institutions, tech companies, and cutting-edge industries. As hosts, we are excited to introduce you to this unique cluster. Net-zero emissions is another priority issue we are addressing, aiming to spark conversation on the latest advancements in green energy, including the testing and certification of solar energy, hydrogen energy, and energy storage technologies.

I am confident that you will find the APMP Midyear Meetings 2025 to be a productive and inspiring experience. Let us embrace the spirit of collaboration as we work together to shape the future of metrology, ensuring it remains a beacon of scientific excellence.

With warm regards,
